God is Love

god is love                                                                                                             God IS Love

God, my Lord and savior is many great things. He is known as the Holy Spirit, God of Angel Armies, Prince of Peace, Alpha & Omega, The Great I Am, and so much more that the list can go on and on. As I began this journey after God’s heart I soon realized all that He truly is. One of the many great things God is, is love. God is Love! He is the one true definition of the word. In the book of Corinthians it speaks about love. “Love is patient and kind, love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away, as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

This to me speaks volumes on my generation and where I personally have been in my life before. I know now I’ve never truly loved because how could I love myself or another when I go against the very true essence of love defined by the word? I truly believe we cannot learn to love ourselves or anyone else until we can know and love God. God is all of these things. He is kind and patient and wishes no harm to us. He gave us life and free will even though HE is all knowing. He knows the evil that lies in each and every one of our hearts yet He loves us anyway because we are HIS children.

If you have a child I can explain it to you this way. You will always love your child because you gave them life and it is a natural instinct. They may disappoint you or get involved with horrible things which cause you to step back but your love for them will always exist and you will always hope for them to come back to you and do the right things in their lives. Well imagine that love and multiply it by infinity because God loves us more than we can even fathom. He is our Father whom we should strive to always please. If you feel like God has never done one thing great in your life or he has never favored you, remind yourself that HE gave you life!

In Romans 12:19-21 Paul talks about not taking revenge or feeding into your Wrath because the Lord’s wrath is sufficient. Make no mistake about our Lord. He IS love but HIS wrath is very real as well. If someone was messing with your child would you not feel some type of anger or a need to protect your child against harm? He feels this way towards us. We belong to him and he watches over us. He doesn’t want us to take any steps towards vengeance because we are all born sinners and even our judgement against wrong doing can be misplaced. God can see one’s heart when all we can see is the outside.

What If This Was Everyone's Motto?!

What If This Was Everyone’s Motto?!

To judge another for a sin they may have committed to you chances are you have probably done the same or are capable of doing it in the future is misplaced judgment. I find that some of the things that offend us or upset us the most are some of the very same things we ourselves are guilty of. How weird is that?

JudgeNot

Love This Quote From Spiritually Thinking BlogSpot

When we judge others we have no room to love them. Instead of judging each other we can speak truth in love according to God’s word. I am convinced that even righteous judgement should be treaded very lightly. We all fall short of perfection and is why our need for our savior becomes vital. Self-righteousness is all too easily found in the human psyche. I am still learning in my walk to keep true judgement up to God because if I am too busy judging what someone is or isn’t doing correctly where is the time to love them and point them back to God?

God doesn’t hold ANY sin higher than another. To Him it is all sin and HE is holy. Where there is holiness, sin cannot be. That is why when you live in sin the presence of the Holy Spirit dwindles. We do not know the intentions of other’s hearts but God does and if the true intentions are evil they will have HIM to answer to and may He have mercy on their souls. God bless you all my brothers and sisters and I pray this post encourages you all to love God’s way.

Sincerely,

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. Romans 12:19-21

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Isaiah 13:9

Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the land a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.

Romans 12:9

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
